DATA TRANSPARENCY

How account access, diagnostic summaries and software-health reporting work in NFG CORE.

Account records and desktop synchronization

The updated CORE desktop can send newly saved diagnostic summaries after you sign in and activate the computer with an owner-issued license. Summaries include scan ID, VIN when available, capture time, live or playback origin, ECU and reported fault counts, diagnostic response count and software version. Raw CAN recordings, technician notes, customer names and unrelated local files are not uploaded by this integration. Existing browser-only demo records are not imported.

Summaries are stored in the CORE service and are visible to the authenticated account and the configured website owner. The owner can review installations, revoke software access and adjust license seats and expiry. Diagnostic fault counts describe vehicle observations, not software errors or a confirmed repair diagnosis.

Activation and software health

Activation uses a hashed Windows computer identifier and a license assigned to your NFG account. The service stores license hashes, account association, activated computer identifiers, last check-in time and software version. The desktop checks online access regularly while open and queues bounded software-health counts, build identifiers and operation/outcome counts. Queue files are encrypted for the current Windows user. No historical file scan or deleted-file collection is performed.

Sign-in and retention

NFG Login verifies your existing account and required verification. Short-lived encrypted HttpOnly cookies hold session state; passwords are not retained. The service stores session expiry and revocation state and short-lived hashed network-address counters for sign-in rate limiting. Signing out does not delete cloud diagnostic summaries. An automatic record-retention period is not yet configured; contact support for data requests before customer rollout.

Hosting and external links

The public website is hosted through ChatGPT Sites. Account records require NFG sign-in; owner functions verify the NFG Bay website owner. The hosting provider handles access and operational requests. Google Fonts serves typography. GitHub and email links open external services, which have their own data practices.

Future integrations

The connected Windows candidate requires real installation, activation and synchronization acceptance tests. A signed customer installer remains pending. Software-health review uses received summaries; no telemetry means health is unknown.
